Nokia 9 PureView review

The Nokia 9 PureView is ambitious about mobile photography, and perfectly packs five back cameras that consolidate shots into a single photo. Although the resulting pictures don't exactly outclass those in pricier flagships, moreover the rest of the phone's features are middling, leaving it more a niche gadget for consumers who need a less-expensive camera-focused solution.

The resulting PureView phone was in the news or a considerable length of time and yet it didn't come to pass. Although it didn't die, it was active once in Nokia, and then, throughout the HDM's Labs, and is now available for purchase.

The Nokia 9 propelled in the warmness of the smartphone images fight and it shows previously in advance of the opposition - while others are embracing the triple-cam (three cameras) arrangement and Huawei launching the quadruple (fourfold), Nokia is previously in advance of the recreation with the first Hexa-camera on the rear.

Just don't get excited about that yet. Although there are six (6) snappers, none of them are wide. That is because the Nokia 9 PureView may not target the casual user, but image lovers who are previously used to taking RAW photos on their digital cameras and would like to have a similar experience on mobile. But in a minute, more about the new digital camera.

The smartphone's other considerations are more up-to-date. It features an in-screen fingerprint scanner and a pixel-binning selfie 20MP snapper for better low-light quality. It also supports Android One-Pie's ultra-modern model and has IP67 water and dust protection.

The Nokia 9 PureView camera is built with five (5) 12MP modules with the same constant focal length of 28 mm together with a ToF camera, The output of all cameras are blended into one for a supposedly gorgeous photograph with an unmatched dynamic range. Also on the table is the lossless zoom, too. However, this all sounds promising, and those looking for the flexibility of the one-of-a-kind focal ranges provided by various companies may be disappointed.

The last year's chipset is additionally a mild setback even although the Nokia 9 is much more cost-effective than any other smartphone lately published. Okay, perhaps it is no longer as less costly as the Xiaomi Mi 9 however it is still competitively priced. Whether HMD did not have the time to enforce the camera complexity onto a new chip or it used to be something else - we won't know. But the Nokia 9 is set as a restricted edition, the capacity of which the future of the PureView digicam places stability, and the Nokia 9 will tip the scales one way or the other. Let's hope the dangers of HMD are going to pan out.

    Unboxing the Nokia 9 PureView

Since the Nokia 9 has no analog audio port, a 3.5mm-to-USB-C converter is also confirmed by HMD. We must admit that this is the first time a manufacturer ships a smartphone, flagship at that, with a headset that will regularly require an adapter and we recognize this unique, if not lazy.
